“artists without borders” ist eine Ausstellung mit bildenden Künstlerinnen aus aller Welt, aber „artists without borders“ ist auch ein Statement aus aller Welt für Offenheit, Toleranz und das Bekenntnis, „Weltbürgerinnen“ zu sein, viel mehr noch als Bürgerinnen einzelner Staaten.
Die eingeladenen Künstlerinnen kommen überall her, viele von ihnen leben in Österreich, auch die Ausstellung findet in Österreich statt: ein Land, welches in der momentanen Zeitgesichte im Brennpunkt des Geschehens ist.
Der Titel weckt bewusst Assoziationen zur Organisation „Ärzte ohne Grenze“, der 1971 gegründeten größten internationalen Organisation für Medizinische Nothilfe Médicins Sans Frontières. Die private, unabhängige Hilfsorganisation leistet medizinische Nothilfe in Krisen- und Kriegsgebieten.
